The Art of Pen and Ink ( Mixing Dry and Wet Mediums)

Ready to dive into the world of mixing dry and wet mediums? Think: Oil pastels over acrylic paints, graphite and watercolor on paper, and stark pen with vibrant ink colors! 

Join us for a hands-on, four-week journey into this classic yet versatile medium! In this class, you’ll experiment with pens, pastels, watercolors, and ink to create bold, dynamic artworks you can take anywhere. We’ll guide you through essential techniques for each medium, helping you discover everything from line work and shading to vibrant washes.

(Note: You won’t have to buy all of the materials, just whatever you are interested in! I will introduce you to everything the first week and then you can go purchase anything you’d like!) 

Each week, we’ll explore key elements like color theory, composition, and layering techniques to bring depth and energy to your pieces. Along the way, you’ll learn how to create striking pen and ink drawings of subjects that inspire you, from nature scenes to pet portaits and more!

Whether you're a seasoned artist looking to expand your skills or a complete beginner, this class offers something for everyone! Join us to connect with fellow artists, try new techniques, and develop artwork that’s truly your own.

We will meet every Wednesday from 10am-12pm for four weeks. The dates are below, and the price covers all four weeks.

We will send you a list of suggested materials after you sign up. This way, you have everything you need to keep practicing and playing on your own between group meetings.
