We are looking forward to Maureen Meyer leading us in a paint class at the studio Thursday, August 9th. Check out what the brain-child be hind wedding invitation company Rosenbrook Meyer and blogger has to say about Fall Color Trends below (and while you're at it, check her fantastic blog: thegoldenmeannyc.com)
Being a mom has made me much slower on the uptake regarding certain things that I used to be all over. …For instance, the news, fashion, music etc. Ok maybe I wasn't always on it, but I like to indulge myself with thoughts like, "I used to be really on top of this kind of thing, but now… you know, with kids and all… "
One great example is the color forcast. In advance of each season, Pantone (hot link: http://www.pantone.com/pages/fcr.aspx?pg=20948&ca=4 ) reports a palette of color swatches that will influence apparel, beauty (makeup) and accessories. These hues are selected based on any number of factors, including what is inspiring designers that season to current events. While they can be related to the season (warm, rich tones for fall), these colors are not limited to those those characteristics; in fact, there are always a number of unexpected, interesting accent (or "pop") colors, which enhance the deeper, more neutral base colors.
So while the Fall 2012 report came out in February, I am just now getting around to checking it out. It's nice. Some of the tones are a bit bright for fall in my own personal opinion, but hey! That's what makes fashion so cool and individual.
Here is a cross-section of looks by various designers, showing how each was influenced by one or a combination of colors from the F2012 palette. Obviously, these are runway looks, but it's great to see and consider for your own fall shopping and accessorizing, in Greenville or elsewhere! Perhaps you might be inspired by some of these colors and the interesting ways that you might tie them into your own "look" this fall. Enjoy!
